Callback Information

All scheduling and communication will through your GetAcceptd messenger. Do not reply to the GetAcceptd email notification, you must login to your account to reply.

Callback Requirements

• Prepare (3) one-minute monologues. Two of which are contrasting contemporary monologues (after 1900), and one classical monologue (before 1900). The faculty panel will decide if you will present your third monologue.
• Make sure that your selection is appropriate for your age.
• The selection should NOT require dialect, costume or props
• Be creative: We love writing from all mediums and look forward to your creative choices. Our actor training embraces all media platforms - YouTube, television, film, theatre, podcasts, etc. We give you permission to bring all your personal creativity to this audition. Our program reflects this philosophy. 
• If possible, for this audition, we request that you do not perform pieces by: Gabriel Davis, Don Zolidis, Kellie Powell, or Wade Bradford, and that you avoid any monologue that is not a piece of a larger whole, such as a play, a screenplay, a novel, or a TV script. Beyond that, we encourage you to make bold choices and bring what speaks to you the most.

As an auditionee for Acting you are required to attend ONE of the Program Overview sessions, we hope your families will also join us as well. These are the available dates and times.

Virtual:

• January 20, 2024 3:00- 4:00 PM || Program Overview

On-Campus Dates:

• January 27, 2024 3:00- 4:00 PM || Program Overview
• February 17, 2024 3:00- 4:00 PM || Program Overview

There will be no program overview at Chicago Unifieds, we ask that students join us for our virtual overview on January 20, 2024.

Virtual Callbacks

All callback slots will be in Central Time! For our international and out-of-state students, if your current slot does not work for you because of the time difference, please let us know.

Live online callback session will include:

• A overview of our program and a Q&A with our current Acting faculty and students.

• Performing callback material and participating in a work session and interview/chat.

Chicago Unifieds

All callback slots will be in Central Time! Texas State University callbacks for Chicago Unifieds will be located at the Ballet Chicago (17 N State St 19th floor.). Ballet Chicago is a short walk from the Palmer House hotel.

Chicago Unifieds Includes:

• Performing callback material and participating in a work session and interview/chat.

On-Campus Callbacks

All callback slots will be in Central Time!

On-Campus Day Includes:

• A tour of the Texas State Campus, Retama Hall, and the Texas State theatre facilities.
• A overview of our program and a Q&A with our current Acting faculty and students.
• Performing callback material and participating in a work session and interview/chat.
• A masterclass with members of our Acting Faculty
  • This masterclass is required for all auditionees

Offers- Campus Visiting Dates

Please note that offer candidates are invited to come to campus and sit in on classes and rehearsals.

If you receive an offer, we recommend visiting for a full days of classes. The visit also includes a campus, theater facilities, and dorm tour.

We will require masks to be worn, and a negative COVID-test at most 72 hours prior.
